Anambra CP Orutugu Decorated as Assistant Inspector General of Police

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, AIG Ikioye Orutugu, on Tuesday, was decorated with his new rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Also decorated was the immediate past Commissioner of Police, AIG Nnaghe Obono Itam.
In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police Command announced and celebrated the decoration of its substantive Commissioner of Police, AIG Ikioye Orutugu,following his promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police.
According to the statement, AIG Orutugu and AIG Nnaghe Obono Itam were decorated alongside other senior police officers at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
The simultaneous elevation of both the serving and immediate past Commissioners of Police of the Anambra State Command is a remarkable milestone that reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s recognition of exceptional leadership, professional excellence, dedication to duty, and unwavering commitment to public service.
