Tinubu Hails Soludo at 66, Calls Him an ‘Outlier’ Transforming Anambra Politics
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, as an “outlier” in Nigeria’s political landscape.
According to President Tinubu, Governor Soludo has successfully translated the rigour, brilliance, and discipline of academia into practical and effective political leadership.
The President made the remarks in a goodwill message to commemorate Governor Soludo’s 66th birthday anniversary.
He commended the governor’s administration for providing bold leadership, strengthening security, and driving rapid economic transformation in Anambra State.
In the message, released on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, and signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised Governor Soludo’s disciplined approach to governance, noting that his policies have had a visible impact on the daily lives of the people of Anambra through expanded infrastructure, enhanced public safety, and improved development initiatives.
“Soludo has truly demonstrated that when philosophers become kings, good change happens,” the President stated.
President Tinubu urged the governor to sustain the momentum of his administration while expressing appreciation for his continued support and collaboration.
The President also highlighted Governor Soludo’s tenure as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), where he spearheaded some of the country’s most impactful and far-reaching banking sector reforms, describing his contributions as a testament to his visionary leadership and commitment to national development.
“I join his family, friends, associates, and the good people of Anambra State in celebrating Governor Soludo on his birthday today.
“I pray that God Almighty grants him many more years of good health, wisdom, and strength to deepen his transformative leadership in Anambra State and continue contributing to Nigeria’s progress,” the President stated.
