Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ Devotee Urges Members to Embrace a Life of Prayer

A member of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ Devotion, Bro. Emeka Ochemba, has urged fellow devotees to remain steadfast in prayer, describing it as the foundation of the Apostolate of the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ.

Bro. Ochemba, a former Onitsha Archdiocesan Server of the devotion, made the call during the closing Novena Prayer held at Sacred Heart Parish, Odoakpu, Onitsha, Anambra State.

He reminded members that they had been specially called to a life of fervent prayer and urged them to remain faithful to the call of Our Lord Jesus Christ to pray for the salvation of souls.

“We must play our part and leave the rest to Almighty God. Let everyone continue to pray and seek God’s mercy so that we may live holy lives. Your prayer life should be reflected in the way you live, and people should recognize you as true devotees,” he said.

Bro. Ochemba explained that being a devotee is not merely a theoretical concept but a practical way of life. 

He stressed that holiness must be practised daily so that those around  may experience the glory of God and bear witness to His goodness.

Speaking on the just-concluded novena, Bro. Ochemba said this year’s turnout surpassed that of previous years. 

He attributed the increase to fresh initiatives and the renewed commitment of the current leadership.

He described the 2026 programme as a significant milestone and expressed optimism that future editions would attract even greater participation.

“Devotion to the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ is spreading like wildfire. I thank God for the priests whom He is using in a special way in this devotion. Without them, we would not have made this progress. It is the directive of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who assured us that He would provide His priests to lead us on this journey. This journey is ultimately towards Heaven—to bring back those who have backslidden and to lead those who do not know God to Him,” Bro. Ochemba stated.

He further affirmed that many testimonies had emerged from this year’s programme. 

However, he explained that testimonies in the Precious Blood devotion are not proclaimed publicly, emphasizing that the greatest testimony is conversion, which he described as the highest grace a person can receive.

“If you look around, you will see new converts and former members who had drifted away but have now returned this year. This is our joy. We believe God is at work, and that is why He promised us: ‘Seek first the kingdom of God, and all other things shall be added to you,'” he added.
