The Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Hon. Stanley Emegha, yesterday warned opposition parties over undermining the meek disposition attitude of the state governor, Francis Nwifuru as weakness to cause mayhem in the forthcoming general elections.

This came following some misquotes in some quarters of the state over the execution of some mega projects in Edda local government area of the state.

Emegha made this known at in Edda local government area of the state while interacting with journalists shortly after the APC local government rally held at Edda on Wednesday.

The APC chairman who dismissed the argument over who built and funded the Iyere bridge, described the faceless actors as the disposed bad eggs in ruling party, noted that the billion naira bridge was initiated, funded and completed by the present minister of works, Engr. David Umahi during he’s era as governor of the state.

He however, called on the people of Edda and the public to disregard any other claims or individuals speculating to have funded and executed the project through the council funds.

He also expressed confidence that the ruling party remains firmly rooted across the state, including Edda.

According to him, “that the our governor is meek in nature should not be taken as a mistake, it is for the sake of good governance.

“Because, the opposition and few of their candidates are going about speculating wrong information to voters, so let them be warned otherwise the party will react.

“Edda remains a stronghold of the APC, citing the developmental strides recorded under the administrations of former Governor David Umahi and now Governor Francis Nwifuru.

“As far as Edda is concerned, you will recall that during the last election, we advised the former governor (Umahi) not to give ticket to a candidate who lacked the capacity to win elections.

“And the then governor did not agree with us and that candidate lost to opposition candidate in that election.

“That experience demonstrates that when the people of Edda make up their minds on a political decision, they stand firmly to defend it at the polls,” he stated.

Speaking also, the incoming Chairman of the area, Hon. Simon Omezu who received the party flag ahead of this month local government polls, assured to be a loyal servant and drive human and capital development in Edda.

“I’m will continue to be loyal servant to the governor, state, party and above all drive human capital development including infrastructures in the good people of Edda”, he assured.
