Anambra CP Takes Security Dialogue to 3 Senatorial Districts
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has concluded plans to host a series of Security Stakeholders’ Interactive Sessions across the three Senatorial Districts of the state.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Police and various communities in the state, while providing a platform for stakeholders to collectively address emerging and prevailing security challenges.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, Awka, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command said the engagement is in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police to deepen community-based policing and enhance strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
According to the statement, the interactive sessions will bring together Traditional Rulers, Local Government Chairmen, Presidents-General, Youth Leaders, Women Leaders, religious leaders, market leaders, and other critical stakeholders.
The sessions are expected to provide an avenue for stakeholders to deliberate on prevailing security concerns, share relevant information and local intelligence, promote intelligence-led policing, and strengthen community participation in crime prevention and public safety.
The statement added that the engagements have been scheduled to take place across the three Senatorial Districts as follows:
Anambra South Senatorial District
Venue: Anaedo Hall, Nnewi

Anambra North Senatorial District
Venue: Umueri Civic Centre
Date: Thursday, August 13, 2026
Time: 12:00 noon
Anambra Central Senatorial District
Venue: Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka

Time: 12:00 noon
The statement further quoted the Commissioner of Police as appealing to all invited stakeholders to attend and actively participate in the engagements.
CP Nnanna Oji Ama emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation between the Police and members of the communities in identifying security threats, sharing timely intelligence, preventing crime, and maintaining peace and public safety across the state.
The Command noted that the sessions are designed to foster stronger Police-community relations and create a more effective and coordinated approach to tackling security challenges in Anambra State.
The Commissioner therefore urged all stakeholders to make their contributions and engage constructively during the sessions, stressing that collective responsibility and effective collaboration remain essential to sustaining peace and security in the state.
