RHA Urges APC Candidates to Leverage Grassroots Structures for 2027 Polls in Anambra

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Anambra State Chapter, has directed all its members to strengthen and operationalise the RHA structures in their respective federal constituencies and senatorial zones ahead of the January 16, 2027, National Assembly elections.

The organisation said the structures should be made fully available to All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates contesting the elections, stressing that an effective grassroots mobilisation network would be critical to securing electoral victories for the party and advancing the Renewed Hope agenda in Anambra State.

The RHA also resolved to collaborate with other political groups, organisations and stakeholders that share and support the Renewed Hope vision and agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The group further called for greater unity, coordination and commitment to the principle of one party, one message and one mobilisation framework in advancing the Renewed Hope agenda and strengthening the APC’s electoral prospects in Anambra State.

These resolutions were contained in a communiqué issued by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Anambra State Chapter, at the end of a joint meeting with APC National Assembly candidates held on Thursday in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

The communiqué was signed by the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Anambra State, Chief Okey Ezenwa.

The meeting was attended by APC National Assembly candidates from Anambra State, as well as the State Coordinator, zonal coordinators and local government coordinators of the RHA.

In his opening remarks, the Anambra State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Chief Okey Ezenwa, expressed satisfaction with the sustained efforts of RHA coordinators at the local government and ward levels in communicating the policies, programmes, agenda and achievements of the Tinubu administration to residents across the state.

He noted with delight what he described as a significant increase in RHA membership across the 326 wards in Anambra State, attributing the growth to what he said was the increasing awareness and appreciation of the policies, programmes and achievements of the Tinubu administration.

Ezenwa urged all RHA coordinators and members across the state to remain committed, focused and united in communicating the administration’s policies and achievements while mobilising grassroots support for the Renewed Hope agenda.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Ezenwa said the gathering was convened primarily to create stronger synergy between RHA coordinators and APC National Assembly candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to him, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors have established a presence across Anambra State, from the ward level to the state level, providing a grassroots mobilisation structure that APC candidates can utilise in their campaigns.

“We have 25-man polling-unit ambassadors in every polling unit in Anambra. That is a very viable machinery for electoral victory. We wanted the candidates to tap into this structure for electoral success.

“This structure has always been developed by the presidential election committee, and immediately the candidates emerged, we felt it was necessary for them to leverage it,” he said.

Ezenwa also said the RHA was not opposed to an Anambra indigene aspiring to contest for the presidency, stressing that every Nigerian has the constitutional right to seek any elective office of his or her choice.

He said the organisation had continued to mobilise and sensitise residents across the state on what he described as the achievements and programmes of President Tinubu’s administration in the South-East and Anambra State.

Highlighting developments in the region, Ezenwa pointed to improvements in road infrastructure and connectivity, noting that travel times on some major routes had been significantly reduced.

“Before now, a journey from Awka to Enugu took about three hours, but today, it takes less than 45 minutes. From Enugu to Umuahia takes about one hour, compared with about five hours before now.
“The road network in the South-East is improving greatly, and you cannot ignore such a development. People are no longer spending as much time at mechanics as they used to. The people are aware of what the Tinubu administration is doing in the South-East, and this is the time to show appreciation,” he said.

On the economy, Ezenwa said President Tinubu was undertaking what he described as a fundamental restructuring of an economy weakened by years of accumulated challenges.

He acknowledged that the process would not produce immediate results, stressing that economic reforms required time and sustained implementation before their full benefits could be realised.

According to him, the administration was laying the foundation for long-term economic growth and development, while introducing measures aimed at reducing the impact of economic hardship on citizens.

“The resetting of the economy is not a one-day affair. The President is putting the nation’s economic development in motion, and Nigerians will begin to enjoy the benefits after some time,” he said.

Ezenwa also highlighted the student loan scheme and other social and economic interventions of the Federal Government, saying they were intended to expand access to education and cushion the effects of current economic difficulties.

“Students in higher institutions are accessing loans for their education, and no Nigerian child should now have to say that he or she cannot attend university because of lack of funds.
“A lot of things are being done to cushion the effects of the hardship, but in the long run, it will be for the glory of Nigeria,” he added.
