2027 Elections: Emegha Urges Onicha Stakeholders to Step Up Strategies

The Ebonyi state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief Stanley Emegha has charged stakeholders and leaders of the ruling party in Onicha local council of the state to step up stronger strategies aimed at delivering all the candidates of the party ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

Emegha who addressed the stakeholders on Saturday during a crucial meeting with the stakeholders and leaders of the party form Onicha, urged them to put aside personal political interests and work collectively for the success of the APC.

He added that the party is ever unity under the leadership of the state governor Francis Nwifuru.

The state APC Chairman, particularly cautioned against further factionalization of the party in the area, stressing that the APC remained “one united and indivisible family.”

He also commended APC candidates from Onicha for their efforts in reaching out to the electorate, even as he called on them to intensify their grassroots engagements.

“You are APC eye and strengths in Onicha local government and the party recommend your strength, structures and commitment ahead of 2027 elections but more efforts are needed, essentially in strengthening grassroots engagement with voters.

“So stronger engagement with the people would help consolidate the party’s support base and make its campaign and winning the general elections, “he stated.

The stakeholders reviewed the challenges and prospects of the party in Onicha and considered strategic interventions to strengthen the party’s structures ahead of the 2027 elections.

A former Commissioner in the state and APC stakeholder from Onicha, Hon. Odi Njoku, dismissed suggestions that the opposition could take over the local government in 2027, insisting that the APC remained firmly in control of the political structures of the council.

Njoku who described any attempt to weaken the dominance in the area as unrealistic, noted that all elected and appointed government officials from Onicha were members of the APC and united ahead of 2027 elections.
