Tension in Enugu as Community Discovers Mass Graves Used for Ritual Killings

Panic and outrage have gripped the community of Umuoma Ndiagu in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State following the gruesome discovery of a soakaway pit allegedly filled with human remains, including those of pregnant women and children within the compound of a native doctor identified simply as Ezeani.
According to a viral video obtained by SaharaReporters, horrified residents recounted the discovery, describing it as a chilling scene that has shaken the entire community.
“We hqve caught the killers. Dead bodies are everywhere inside. They have killed so many people. We just rescued a 13-year-old child they were about to use for rituals,” a visibly distressed community member is heard saying in the video, pointing toward the pit.
The man further revealed, “This is happening at Ojor’s house in Umuoma Ndiagu, Ezeagu, Enugu State. One of the suspects is right here,” he said, referring to an individual apprehended at the scene.
The suspect, who claimed to be a security guard hired to watch over the compound and ward off intruders, was reportedly beaten by enraged residents. While denying direct involvement in the killings, he admitted frequenting the compound for ritual activities.
“I am a businessman,”
“I came here for some sacrifices. After completing a few, I was told a water sacrifice was still pending. I was waiting for everything to be done. I don’t know exactly what is used for these rituals, but when new people come here, they are usually sent on errands.”he said.
He further disclosed, “The owner of this place, Daddy Ezeani asked me to protect the area and scare people away.”
Although claiming ignorance of the murders, the suspect acknowledged knowing two other individuals believed to be accomplices.
“One is Okey, from Orji River, and the other is Chibuzor. I’m not sure where he’s from, but I can recognize both of them if I see their faces.” he said.
The native doctor, Ezeani, alleged to be the mastermind behind the horrifying acts is currently at large.
However, sources say his wives were apprehended by community members. In the wake of the revelation, angry youths reportedly set fire to Ezeani’s residence and vehicles.
Efforts by SaharaReporters to obtain an official statement from the Enugu State Police Command were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
