Stakeholders Rally Behind Comrade Charles Okadigbo for Achalla President General

Dr. Charles Okadigbo hand raises up for Achalla president general

Stakeholders in Achalla Community have formally endorsed Comrade Dr. Charles Okadigbo as their preferred candidate for the position of President General (PG) of the Achalla Improvement Union.

The endorsement took place at Orie Ajana Square during Dr. Okadigbo’s official declaration of interest to contest for the PG position.

The village square was filled to capacity with elders, youths, women, religious and community leaders, as well as various cultural dance troupes, all gathered in a show of support.

Stakeholders praised Dr. Okadigbo’s leadership capacity and expressed confidence that, if elected, he would restore Achalla to its rightful place of pride and progress.

The Traditional Prime Minister of Achalla, Ozor John Nwokoye, while addressing the crowd, described Dr. Okadigbo as “a worthy son of the soil who has contributed significantly to the community’s development, even using his personal resources”

Ozor Nwokoye, a former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly who represented Awka North, further revealed that the traditional ruler’s cabinet had unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Dr. Okadigbo, citing his proven track record and goodwill.

He urged residents to come out en masse on July 12 to vote for a candidate committed to sustainable development in the community.

Also speaking at the event, a former Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area, Chief Lawrence Onwuzuka, recalled Dr. Okadigbo’s instrumental role in the electrification of the community during his previous tenure as PG.

According to him, “Okadigbo’s leadership remains unmatched in terms of tangible results.”

Bishop Raphael Mozie Egbuna, National President of the United Voice of Sabbath Worldwide and Presiding Bishop of the True Covenant of God Servant Mission, led a prayer for the success of the upcoming election.

He described Dr. Okadigbo as a “tested and visionary leader who always works for the collective interest of the people.” The Bishop expressed confidence that widows, women, and the larger community would benefit immensely from Dr. Okadigbo’s return to office.

Other prominent stakeholders, including Chief Samuel Nweke and former PG Chief Boniface Chigbo, lamented that past administrations failed to deliver quality leadership due to disunity and misinformation.

However, they agreed that the endorsement of Dr. Okadigbo was both timely and strategic.

In his declaration speech, Comrade Dr. Okadigbo stated that his decision to run again was driven by a deep commitment to restoring peace and security in Achalla.

He recounted key achievements from his previous tenure, including initiating rural electrification, constructing a town hall, youth empowerment, and fostering communal harmony.

He expressed regret that successive administrations failed to sustain these gains, especially in the areas of peace and security.

“This is why I have decided to return—to confront the growing challenges facing our people,” he said.

Dr. Okadigbo promised to leverage his wealth of experience to restore security, especially in rural areas, and ensure that farmers particularly women can safely return to their farmlands and resume agricultural activities disrupted by insecurity.

A former Special Adviser to ex-Governor Willie Obiano, Dr. Okadigbo also used the opportunity to commend Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his visionary leadership, which, he said, has placed Achalla and the entire Awka North Local Government Area on the developmental map of Anambra State.

A commercial rice farmer himself, Dr. Okadigbo pledged that Achalla community would throw its full support behind Governor Soludo to secure a second term in office after the November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election.
