It was a day of excitement and festivity in Awka, the Anambra State capital, as Governor Prof. Charles Soludo officially declared the Solution Fun City open for commercial and recreational use. The grand opening took place amidst glamour, music, and vibrant celebration.
The Solution Fun City,one of the signature legacy projects of Governor Soludo’s administration had earlier been commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his one-day official visit to Anambra State on May 8, 2025.
The facility represents a major milestone in the state’s efforts to enhance tourism, stimulate the entertainment sector, and create inclusive spaces for leisure.
The launch event was marked by a flurry of activities and electrifying performances from top Nigerian entertainers.
Leading the pack was the highlife sensation Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour, who captivated the audience with his energetic and culturally rich music.
He was joined by other notable acts including Umu Obiligbo, Jennifer Eliogu, and MC Ezegetive, who collectively showcased the depth and vibrancy of Anambra’s artistic talent.
The governor, visibly elated, addressed the crowd with optimism, highlighting the economic, social, and cultural potential of the facility.
“After the formal commissioning by President Bola Tinubu, the Solution Fun City is now officially open to the public. With features like a water park, leisure park, and a world-class country club, Anambra is ready to position itself as a premier destination for arts, entertainment, and tourism in Nigeria,” Governor Soludo stated.
He further reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fostering creativity and innovation as core pillars of sustainable development in the state.
According to him, the Solution Fun City is more than a recreational facility, it is a symbol of the state’s progressive vision and its commitment to creating opportunities for youth engagement and economic growth.
Flavour, known for blending traditional rhythms with contemporary sounds, took center stage following the governor’s remarks, delivering a performance that had the diverse crowd singing, dancing, and celebrating. His set was a fitting tribute to the cultural richness of the Southeast.
The event attracted an array of dignitaries from across sectors, including the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze; business mogul Chief Emeka Offor; and several top Nollywood stars. Their presence underscored the significance of the event as a landmark moment in the state’s developmental journey.
As the sun set over Awka, the newly inaugurated Solution Fun City stood not only as a testament to visionary leadership but also as a beacon of hope for a vibrant, thriving, and culturally rich Anambra State.
