Soludo Launches Solution Market & Park in Ekwulọbịa, Promises New Spaces for Displaced Shop Owners
Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State on Tuesday inaugurated the newly constructed Solution Market and Solution Park in Ekwulọbịa, located in Aguata Local Government Area.

During the commissioning ceremony, Governor Soludo reassured shop owners displaced by recent developments that they would be allocated new spaces within the modern market and park facilities.
In a statement released by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, described the inauguration as a landmark achievement in the ongoing transformation of Anambra’s urban landscape.
Speaking at the event, Governor Soludo stated that these projects are integral to his administration’s comprehensive urban regeneration agenda.
“What we are commissioning today aligns with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) mantra of leaving no one behind,” The Solution Market, complemented by the state-of-the-art park equipped with modern amenities, is designed to stimulate economic activity and improve residents’ quality of life.
“This is the third modern marketplace built by the state government, tailored to meet the unique needs of our people,” Soludo added.
The Governor explained that the new facilities benefit traders displaced by the ongoing construction of the Ekwulọbịa flyover, which is nearing completion. “Markets are found in every corner of Anambra, and this is no exception,” “Solution Park will revitalize urban areas that were once neglected. We are undertaking fundamental urban regeneration,” Soludo said.
He highlighted the park’s key features, to include expansive open parking areas, leisure spaces, solar power installations, canteen facilities, and a reliable water supply system.
According to him, this facility serves as a model for what a modern market should embody, stressing the importance of providing a pleasurable environment for trading and shopping.
Aligning with his vision of positioning Anambra among the world’s leading cities, Governor Soludo outlined ambitious plans for further sectoral improvements.
“If we aspire to be like Dubai or Taiwan, we must build a solid foundation. Our people deserve to enjoy a minimum standard of comfort and convenience,” he stated.
The Governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitments to social welfare programs such as free education, free antenatal care, and complimentary delivery services for mothers.
Highlighting the collaborative nature of the projects, Soludo noted that the Solution Market and Park are state government properties developed in partnership with local authorities to ensure efficient management. “Beneficiaries have been profiled and will receive shops free of charge,” he disclosed.
Governor Soludo also said that his administration’s approach is rooted in empathy and compassion for the less fortunate, making significant progress in uniting communities through strategic infrastructure development.
He cited ongoing projects such as the Ekwulọbịa Tower of Light and the forthcoming Odu Igbo project as testaments to this commitment.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Barrister Patricia Igwebuike, described the adjacent bus terminal as a legacy project aimed at alleviating urban congestion.
Meanwhile, Chief Evarist Ubah, Special Adviser to the Governor on Markets, stated that the establishment of the Solution Market and Park signifies the full urbanization of Ekwulọbịa.
