The leadership of Agunechemba Security Outfit, also known as Udo Ga Achi, has expressed sincere appreciation to the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, for initiating a comprehensive training and re-orientation Programme for vigilante operatives across the state.

This initiative is aimed at strengthening collaboration between the police and community security outfits to effectively address the challenges of insecurity in Anambra State.

In a statement issued by Agunechemba’s spokesman, Comrade Nweke Nweke, on Thursday, it was revealed that the Programme, jointly organized by the Anambra State Police Command and the State Government, encompasses professional training, ethical reorientation, and thorough medical assessments for all local security personnel.

Comrade Nweke said that Agunechemba views this Programme as a significant step toward enhancing the efficiency, accountability, and professionalism of community-based security forces.

“We are deeply grateful to CP Orutugu for his dedication and commitment to grassroots security. This initiative will strengthen our organizational structure, revitalize our operations, and empower our members to serve more effectively,” he stated.

According to Comrade Nweke, the training will cover crucial areas such as security protocols, human rights, crime scene management, evidence preservation, local policing principles, and adherence to the rule of law.

He expressed optimism that the Programme will foster closer cooperation between the vigilante groups, the Police Command, and other security agencies, ultimately improving safety and building public trust across communities in Anambra State.

“We are confident that this Programme will equip our operatives with essential knowledge, reinforce professionalism, and significantly enhance community security. It also underscores the strong partnership between the Police Command and the State Government in promoting peace and order,” he added.

The leadership of Agunechemba has urged all its members to actively participate in the training, emphasizing that attendance is mandatory for every vigilante operative.

“This training is not merely a refresher course, it represents the future of community policing in Anambra State. We encourage every member to seize this important opportunity,” Nweke Nweke added.
