The Zonal Publicity Secretary of the Anambra Central, All Progressive Congress APC, Igboeli Arinze, has described the recent endorsement of Governor Chukwuma Soludo by Anambra Central stakeholders as an effort laden with falsehood, akin to political yahoo yahoo.

He questioned what Soludo has accomplished for the zone to justify any politician or anyone worthy of being called a son of the zone endorsing four years of what he described as “sugar candy land” projects, offering no immediate or future benefit to the average Anambrarian.

Arinze expressed disbelief that such failed politicians would think they could pull the wool over the eyes of the people and arrive at such an endorsement.

“We speak the minds of those in our zone. I speak as a true son of the zone, at home with our people and in touch with its pulse, from which I can categorically say that what transpired on Saturday in the name of endorsing the outgoing governor of Anambra remains fraudulent and is tantamount to political yahoo yahoo. One wonders what his achievements in the zone are to have warranted such an endorsement, especially considering that his deputy is from this zone. What has changed in Awka or Abagana? What impact has the Soludo administration had on Neni, Ojoto, or Ogidi? Has the Human Development Index (HDI) improved or worsened? What is the level of security in these areas? Are we better off under Soludo? The answer is no,” Arinze said.

He insinuated that the rally was motivated by fear of the incoming change, where the ticket of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and Senator Uche Ekwunife would reportedly chase out Soludo and his failed administration. Arinze also pointed out that Governor Soludo did not present any achievements at the rally because he had none and instead relied on slogans such as “four is better than eight” and the sanctity of zoning.

“Ndi Anambra Central should also note that rather than present his achievements to the assembled crowd, the governor chose to campaign on non-substantive factors like ‘four is better than eight’ and the sacrosanct nature of zoning in Anambra. At a time when Anambraians are struggling with insecurity, poor infrastructure, and unemployment, our governor is hinging his return on the idea that four years is better than eight. However, we will tell him with our votes that we prefer giving Ukachukwu eight more years if it guarantees us good roads, quality healthcare, security, and good schools. We in Anambra Central would readily trade another four years for such progress,” Arinze added.
