Edo Sports Commission Chairman Commends SWAN for Outstanding NYG Coverage

The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has praised the national president of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and all sports journalists covering the 2025 National Youth Games (NYG) in Asaba for their exemplary reportage.

Hon. Enabulele made the commendation during the National Convention of SWAN, held at the media center of Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

He described sports writers as essential partners in progress alongside sports administrators in advancing sports development across the country.

Invited as a special guest at the convention, Hon. Enabulele also performed the kickoff ceremony for the SWAN Unity Football Match at St. Patrick’s Secondary School, where he expressed solidarity with sports journalists as a steadfast friend of the media.

The Edo State Sports Commission chairman expressed his gratitude to SWAN for the extensive media coverage of the 9th National Youth Games, as well as the continuous media support he has enjoyed since assuming office.

He noted that SWAN’s invaluable contributions are highly commendable and critical to the success of sports in Edo State.

Highlighting some of the commission’s achievements, Hon. Enabulele pointed to the restructuring of Bendel Insurance FC and Edo Queens’ management, as well as the well-conceived grassroots sports development policy that is already yielding positive results at the 9th NYG in Asaba.

He also noted that Edo State continues to showcase some of the youngest and most talented athletes at the youth games.

The chairman called for ongoing collaboration and mutual support between the Edo State Sports Commission and SWAN, pledging his continued commitment to backing the association’s efforts.

In response, SWAN President Comrade Benjamin Isaiah acknowledged the support from the Edo State Sports Commission for both the convention and the Unity Football Match, assuring Hon. Enabulele of SWAN’s unwavering support moving forward.
