The Association of Non-Indigenes in Anambra State (ANIAS) has distanced itself from the purported plan to hold a meeting on Monday at the former ASTUA building, located at the old Government House, Agu-Awka.

In a personally signed statement, the State President of ANIAS, Prince Chigozie Nweke, stated that the planned meeting is not recognized by the Anambra State Ministry of Local Government and Town Union Affairs.

He further disclosed that the Elders’ Council of ANIAS in the state has denied any knowledge of such a meeting and has urged members of the association to disregard the invitation entirely.

Statement in full:

It has come to the notice of the Association of Non Indigenes In Anambra State ANIAS that a certain meeting of the Association is being conveyed a on Monday the 29th September 2025 at the former ASTUA , former government house Agu-Awka .

It is our strong believe that the Anambra state government is not aware of such meeting, giving the fact that the Anambra State Ministry of Local government and Town Union Affairs is also not aware of such meeting.

In the light of the above the Association of Non Indigenes In Anambra State ANIAS and it’s Elders Council wish to state that there is no such meeting and urge members of the Association to disregard that invitation .

The Association has remained a believer in the Transformation Agenda of f Mr Governor Prof Charles Soludo and has been working hand in gloves with the relevant bodies in the governance of Anambra state.

It is against this backdrop that we as a body can state authoritatively that the Association of Non Indigenes In Anambra State ANIAS knows that the Anambra state government is not aware of such a meeting.
