The Agbata family of Umuonaga village, Awka, Anambra State, was engulfed in grief and solemn reflection over the weekend as they laid to rest their beloved son, husband, and patriarch, Chief Kenneth Osita Agbata, popularly known as Chinyelugo, at his country home.

Though the atmosphere was heavy with sorrow, it was also infused with thanksgiving to Almighty God for a life well lived,a life defined by love, selflessness, and service to humanity.

Friends, relatives, political associates, and well-wishers from across the state gathered to pay their last respects as the late Chief Agbata was interred, marking the final chapter of a life that touched many.

The Agbata family, visibly devastated by the loss, described the deceased as a man of rare virtue kindhearted, hardworking, generous, and committed to peace.

Speaking on behalf of the family, his brothers, Mr. Alex Chinwuko and Chief Peter Chinwuko, delivered heartfelt tributes, highlighting his humility, moral rectitude, and unwavering dedication to family and communal values.

“Our brother fought valiantly to stay with us, but the cold hands of death took him away.“We deeply appreciate his wife, who stood firmly by his side through every trial. We pray that the soul of Chinyelugo finds eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord.”they said.

Among the notable attendees was the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the upcoming November 8, 2025, Anambra State election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma), who came to commiserate with the family and pay tribute to the late Chief Agbata.

Addressing the gathering, Ukachukwu urged the family to take solace in the legacy Kenneth left behind a legacy rooted in service, dignity, and quiet strength.

“Your brother was one of us. His life—and his wife’s steadfastness through his final days—reflect the character of a good man,” “We are here not just to mourn, but to stand with your family in unity and shared humanity.”Ukachukwu said.

The APC candidate, widely regarded for his compassion and strong Christian values, reflected on the brevity of life, describing it as a sacred journey whose true measure lies not in its length but in the depth of its impact.

“Chinyelugo lived a meaningful life—one marked by faith, friendship, and purposeful service. He touched lives and left behind enduring memories that will inspire all who knew him. That, indeed, is the true measure of a life well lived,” he added.

Ukachukwu called on the bereaved to draw strength from God, the ultimate source of comfort, and encouraged them to look forward with hope anchored in faith.

He also extended particular support to the widow, Mrs. Ngozi Agbata, a leading figure in the Sustenance of Faith in Governance (SOFIG), one of the foremost support groups propelling his candidacy.

“What defines us is not how far we go, but how faithfully we walk the path set before us.

“Chinyelugo walked that path with integrity and devotion. My earnest prayer is that God grants your family peace, courage, and the grace to carry on his legacy.”he said.

Visibly moved by Ukachukwu’s presence and heartfelt words, Mr. Alex Chinwuko, speaking on behalf of the Agbata family, expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown at such a difficult time.

“Your presence here today speaks volumes about your character. We are comforted not just by your visit, but by your words of hope and encouragement,” “May God reward your sincerity and grant you success in your quest to serve the people of Anambra as governor. May He endow you with continued wisdom and strength.”Chinwuko said.

The event served not only as a funeral but also as a powerful reminder of the unifying role of shared values, community, and leadership—qualities that the late Chinyelugo exemplified in life and that his family, friends, and political allies now celebrate in death.
