H.R.M. Igwe Godwin Nwabunwanne Odiegwu Ezedioramma of Abacha Community, Idemili North LGA, Anambra State, has stated that Governor Charles Soludo has performed exceptionally well in the state.

According to the royal father, based on his honest and personal assessment of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration in Anambra State, the governor has done remarkably well across all measures typically used to evaluate a state chief executive.

He expressed this commendation while briefing newsmen on Governor Soludo’s performance in Anambra State and Nigeria’s development as a nation since independence in 1960. The briefing took place at his palace in Umudisi village, Abacha, Idemili North LGA.

Igwe Odiegwu explained that his assessment was inspired by the numerous development projects he has observed emerging from nearly all parts of the state.

These projects include the construction of quality, standard roads connecting the three senatorial zones of Anambra State, as well as the upliftment of the state’s education sector through the employment of qualified teachers.

He also highlighted several other initiatives that set this administration apart from previous ones, such as the empowerment and employment of youths, women, and indigent citizens. This includes job creation and the provision of capital to help them start businesses and entrepreneurial ventures. Additionally, modern general hospitals have been built in each senatorial zone, coupled with the introduction of improved healthcare services, including free antenatal care and education.

According to Igwe Odiegwu, Governor Soludo’s establishment of efficient security measures has led to a notable reduction in crimes, kidnappings, and related criminal activities perpetuated by groups such as Okeite, fraudulent native doctors, and Ezenwanyis.

“Governor Soludo has done very well so far, judging by the development projects I see emerging in every corner of the three senatorial zones. I have no doubt in my mind that he is making significant progress, especially regarding security maintenance in the state,” he said.

On the widely held view that traditional rulers should be given constitutional roles in national administration, Igwe Odiegwu a business mogul and oil marketer affirmed that the idea is long overdue and should be implemented across Nigeria.

He argued that if traditional rulers were constitutionally empowered to participate in national governance, Nigeria would benefit greatly, as monarchs are more closely connected to the grassroots population.

“Traditional rulers always feel the pulse of the people, especially regarding security at the grassroots level,” he added.

Regarding Nigeria’s development over the past 65 years, Igwe Odiegwu described the nation’s progress as unfortunate, painful, and regrettable.

He lamented that Nigeria remains behind and stagnant in crucial areas such as quality education, welfare, healthcare programs, election processes, and many other vital sectors.

However, he expressed optimism, stating that there is still an opportunity for the country to advance.

He urged national leaders and citizens alike to unite, act honestly and patriotically, and work collaboratively to revive the nation from its current comatose state.
