By Polycarp Ifeanyi, Onitsha
Faithspiration Initiative, a non-profit and non-governmental organization, has donated the sum of ₦850,000 to one of its members, Mr. Ifeanyi Azubuike, who was recently involved in a motor accident.
Azubuike, who was hospitalized at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Awka—formerly known as Amaku Teaching Hospital—was involved in an accident at Igbariam, Anambra State, and was the only survivor.
The founder and spiritual director of Faithspiration Initiative, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. George Adimike, disclosed in a video message that Mr. Azubuike’s accident occurred at Igbariam and that he miraculously survived as the sole survivor of the crash.
According to him, Azubuike was rushed to the teaching hospital in Awka in critical condition.
He explained that the group shared information about his situation and appealed for support on his behalf.
Fr. Adimike noted that members and supporters responded generously, contributing a total of ₦866,000.
He added that they visited Azubuike to offer prayers, express solidarity, and present a cash gift.
“We prayed for him, encouraged him, and consoled him. He was in high spirits, and we gave him ₦850,000. The remaining ₦16,000 was used to support the transportation of our twelve members who came from Onitsha. He was very grateful and prayed that God would bless all of you,” Fr. Adimike said.
Fr. Adimike, who is also a Catholic priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha, expressed profound gratitude to all donors and supporters who contributed to the effort to assist Mr. Azubuike.
He prayed for God’s abundant blessings upon everyone who donated, offering special appreciation to Chief Dubem Obaze and his wife, Dr. Pamela Obaze, noting that Chief Obaze donated ₦300,000 shortly after the accident occurred.
According to him, Chief Obaze stated that financial constraints must not hinder Azubuike from receiving the best medical care, assuring the group that if additional help was needed, they should contact him at any time, as he was committed to ensuring Azubuike’s full recovery.
“We thank Chief Dubem Obaze and his family, and I ask God to bless them and all the contributors and donors. Almost all our members donated, and we decided to come here in person to be with him. For the past two weeks, our members have been visiting, praying with him, and keeping him company. Today, we finally came for the formal presentation. Thank you, and God bless you all,” Fr. Adimike added.
