Awka Town Union Executives Pledge Maximum Support to UNIZIK VC
Executives of the Awka Development Union (ADUN), Nigeria, have demonstrated their commitment and unwavering support for the administration of the 7th substantive Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, in its efforts to take the university to greater heights.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor in his office, the President of ADUN, Chief Fredrick Chinwuba, stated that the town union—comprising all the villages in Awka, including Umuzocha, Nkwele, Umorama, Amachalla, Amudo, Ifite, among others—is united in its collective decision not only to support the Vice-Chancellor but also to remain committed to the overall advancement of the university in all facets.
While presenting symbolic Igbo traditional kola nuts to the Vice-Chancellor, the President-General (PG) noted that Awka, as the host community to the university, is open to collaboration and committed to sustaining the existing cordial relationship with the institution for mutual benefit.
Chief Chinwuba described the visit as a step toward fostering unity and strengthening ties between the Awka Development Union and the university community.
In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bond Ugochukwu Anyaehie, expressed his happiness at receiving the visitors.
He emphasized the need for both parties to work together, noting that they share certain common interests.
He further stated that peace and mutual understanding can be enhanced between the union and the university through sustained cooperation.
Members of the delegation included Prof. Vivian Nwogba; Revd. Dr. Canon H.O.N. Ifediora Uchenna Loveth; Dr. Obinna; Anagor John; Obiora Anueyiagu; Emeka; Chukwunenye; and Barr. Raphael, among others.
The highlight of the visit was the interaction between the Vice-Chancellor and the delegation, which centered on collaboration and mutual understanding.
