American independent charismatic prophetess and co-founder of Generals International, Cindy Jacobs, has said that God has strategically positioned the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, to serve as a model in leadership and governance.
Jacobs, a speaker and author, made this statement over the weekend during the National Thanksgiving Worship Service held at The Father’s House Church, Jahi, Abuja.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ctz. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, Jacobs made the revelation when Governor Otti honoured an invitation extended to him by the programme’s organisers.
Mrs. Jacobs, who is visiting Nigeria for the first time in 23 years alongside her husband, Mike Jacobs, said she envisioned extensive road construction projects across Abia State.
She noted that these roads would connect rural communities and enable farmers to transport their produce more easily to markets.
She also stated that she foresaw divine provision of the finances required to execute the projects.
In her words:
“God is going to begin to give you finance for infrastructure. I see supernatural provision that will enable farmers to bring their produce to market.
“I see roads being built from villages to places where goods can be sold. I do not know much about your administration, but I see that God wants you to be a model.”
Jacobs further declared that Governor Otti would implement transformative policies that would position Abia as one of the most educated states in the region, helping to lift citizens out of poverty through education.
“God wants you to be a prototype of what can be achieved in a region when He is exalted,”
“The Lord also showed me that you will establish policies that will make your state one of the most educated. I see you building schools and prioritising teacher education as part of your legacy.
“Through education, many will be lifted out of poverty, and God will make it happen.”she said.
Responding, Governor Otti told Jacobs that since assuming office, his administration has consistently allocated 35 percent of the state’s annual budget to education and healthcare , 20 percent to education and 15 percent to health.
He described the prophetess as “speaking in the spirit” and disclosed that his administration has recruited 5,394 teachers in the first phase of its teachers’ employment programme, with plans underway to hire an additional 4,000.
The governor also announced that three newly built smart schools would be commissioned before the end of the month.
“And before the end of this month, we will commission three brand-new smart schools,” Otti added.
Addressing the congregation, the governor emphasised the need for Christians, especially leaders to live according to their teachings, noting that leadership is fundamentally about service.
He stressed that people pay more attention to actions than words.
He added that while fasting and prayer are important, righteousness is essential for national progress, warning that wrongdoing can undermine prayers.
The National Thanksgiving Worship Service, currently ongoing at The Father’s House Church, is an interdenominational gathering aimed at offering intercessory prayers for Nigeria, particularly for an end to killings and bloodshed in parts of the country caused by terrorism and banditry.
The programme also seeks divine healing for the nation and its restoration to greatness.
The event attracted several prominent Christian leaders from around the world, with Jacobs serving as the lead guest preacher.
Former Minister of Education, economic policy expert, and activist, Oby Ezekwesili, and her husband, Chinedu Ezekwesili, who were among the organisers, described Governor Otti as a shining light in governance in Nigeria.
