Osumenyi Goes Agog as Muojekwu Family Celebrates Triple Birthday Anniversary

The ancient community of Osumenyi in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State came alive on Saturday, July 25, 2026, as the family of the late Pa Felix Olisakwe Muojekwu celebrated a remarkable triple birthday anniversary in honour of their matriarch, Mrs. Beatrice Biarie Muojekwu, their son, Ide Sir Stephen Muojekwu, KSM, and his wife, Lady Ifeoma Muojekwu.
The occasion marked the 100th birthday of Mrs. Beatrice Biarie Muojekwu, the 80th birthday of Ide Sir Stephen Muojekwu, KSM, and the 70th birthday of Lady Ifeoma Muojekwu.
The celebration commenced with a Holy Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Osumenyi, and continued at the family compound of the late Pa Felix Olisakwe Muojekwu, where relatives, friends, clerics, and well-wishers gathered to honour the celebrants and thank God for the gift of life and longevity.
According to the biographies of the celebrants, Mrs. Beatrice Biarie Muojekwu was born in 1925 into the family of Ezeuturu of the Okpo Ezeabor Kindred in Utu, Anambra State.
She was married to the late Pa Felix Olisakwe Muojekwu and has remained a devoted Catholic throughout her life.
She currently serves as the Mother General of the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO), St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Osumenyi, and is an active member of several religious and community organizations.
Ide Sir Stephen Muojekwu, KSM, was born in 1946 to the family of the late Pa Felix Olisakwe Muojekwu.
He is a Fourth Degree Knight of the prestigious Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba, Nigeria (KSM), and has distinguished himself through active service in the Church and various socio-cultural organizations.
He is married to Lady Ifeoma Muojekwu, and their union is blessed with children.
Lady Ifeoma Muojekwu was born in Onitsha to the family of the late Mr. Emmanuel Okonkwo and the late Mrs. Bridget Ekeodu. A retired teacher, she is also actively involved in numerous religious and community organizations, where she continues to render selfless service.
Speaking with journalists during the celebration, Ide Sir Stephen Muojekwu attributed longevity to a disciplined lifestyle, strong faith in God, prudent management of available resources, contentment, and avoiding unnecessary stress.
He encouraged people to accept God’s will in all circumstances, live within their means, and maintain a peaceful and healthy lifestyle. He also prayed that all those who attended the celebration would equally enjoy long life and witness many joyful milestones, adding that God has graciously blessed the Muojekwu family with the gift of longevity.
Also speaking, the family priest, Rev. Fr. Peter Muojekwu, popularly known as Fada Pita, expressed profound gratitude to God, whom he described as the giver and sustainer of life, for His abundant mercy upon the Muojekwu family.
He noted that the celebration was primarily an act of thanksgiving to God for His faithfulness over the years.
Fr. Muojekwu, the founder of the Fada Pita Charity Tennis Tournament and the Fada Pita Charity Organisation, recalled that the family began celebrating their mother’s birthday annually after she attained the age of 92. He explained that shortly after celebrating one of her birthdays, she sustained a hip injury, which made the family appreciate the uncertainty of life and inspired them to celebrate her every year rather than waiting until she reached the centenary milestone.
He said:
“We promised our mother that after celebrating her 90th birthday in a grand style, we would also celebrate her 100th birthday in a very special way. By the grace of God, that promise has become a reality today, and we are grateful that she has lived to witness this remarkable milestone.”
Fr. Muojekwu reaffirmed that longevity runs in the Muojekwu family but stressed that good health should never be taken for granted, as illness can shorten one’s lifespan.
He advised people to adopt healthy lifestyles by eating nutritious meals, undergoing regular medical check-ups, exercising moderation in their daily activities, and maintaining a vibrant prayer life, while ultimately entrusting their lives to God’s divine providence.
“My elder brother is celebrating his 80th birthday today, and that is another testimony that God has blessed our family with longevity. Eighty years is no small achievement. The Bible speaks of seventy years as the normal lifespan, while eighty years is for those blessed with strength. Today, our mother has reached 100 years, and that is why we considered it necessary to organise this colourful celebration in thanksgiving to God,” Fr. Muojekwu stated.
In his remarks, the Chaplain of the Fada Pita Charity Tennis Tournament, Rev. Fr. Anthony Obele, described the triple birthday celebration as a historic and memorable occasion that demonstrated God’s abundant blessings upon the Muojekwu family.
According to him, the fact that Mrs. Beatrice Muojekwu attained the age of 100, her son celebrated his 80th birthday, and his wife marked her 70th birthday on the same occasion was a rare testament to divine favour and longevity.
He observed that many people attended the celebration not only to felicitate with the family but also to share in the blessings associated with such a remarkable milestone.
Fr. Obele encouraged people to cultivate joyful hearts, avoid unnecessary stress, maintain healthy relationships, and always wear smiles, stressing that a cheerful disposition contributes significantly to long life.
Delivering the family’s vote of thanks, High Chief Dominic Muojekwu expressed profound appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the celebration.
He particularly thanked the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, represented at the event by the Archdiocesan Financial Administrator, Very Rev. Fr. Philip Ibeneme; the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Solomon Ugochukwu; Monsignors; numerous priests and religious; members of the Fada Pita Charity Tennis Tournament; invited guests; parishioners; family members; friends; benefactors; organizations; and all individuals who supported the family through their presence, prayers, goodwill, and generous contributions.
He prayed that Almighty God would richly bless and reward everyone who honoured the invitation, granting them good health, safe journeys, long life, and many more joyful celebrations.

The colourful celebration reached its climax as the famous Egedege Dance Cultural Troupe, led by the legendary Queen Theresa Onuorah, entertained guests with captivating traditional music and energetic dance performances, adding glamour and excitement to an unforgettable celebration of faith, family, and longevity.
