Israel-Hamas War: Netanyahu Rejects Trump’s 15-Point Gaza Peace Plan, Demands Hamas Disarmamentts

Peace talks aimed at ending the war in Gaza have suffered a setback after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected United States President Donald Trump’s 15-point peace plan for resolving the conflict.

Netanyahu said Israel would retain its troops in Gaza until Hamas is genuinely and completely disarmed, making Israeli military withdrawal conditional on the full disarmament of the Palestinian militant group.

The development comes after President Trump’s Board of Peace disclosed last month that a truce agreement had been reached, including provisions for the “complete disarmament” of Hamas and other armed groups operating in Gaza.
However, Hamas reportedly maintained that it would surrender its heavy weapons only if Israel ceased all forms of aggression and withdrew its forces from the territory.

Israel has continued to carry out strikes in Gaza despite an initial ceasefire agreement reached last October.

Addressing a Cabinet meeting on Sunday, Netanyahu said Israel had rejected the 15-point document.
“Israel rejects the 15-point document,” Netanyahu said.

He further stated that the Israeli military “will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed” and would continue to take measures to prevent threats against Israeli forces and civilians.

Trump, however, described the proposal as “a monumental step toward lasting peace and security” after Hamas indicated that it had accepted a plan for the disarmament of armed groups in Gaza.

Reacting to the latest development, Netanyahu insisted that Hamas must be fully disarmed before any Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. He stressed that the process could not involve what he described as “fictitious disarmament.”

Netanyahu added that he was currently holding discussions with US officials on how to move forward with the proposed peace plan.
