Otti Reassures Abians: Development Will Reach Every Community

Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti

The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has reassured the people of the state that the development initiatives of his administration will reach every community in the state.

According to him, citizens should not lose hope because his administration has not yet reached every part of the state, noting that it will eventually get to every community.

Governor Otti gave the reassurance on Saturday at Amaku Nvosi, in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area (LGA), during the traditional marriage ceremony of Miss Oluomachi Faith Nwaobia and Mr Chinemerem Jude Emeanaa.

According to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Abia State, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, the bride is the daughter of the Archbishop of Aba Ngwa Province of the Anglican Church, Most Rev. Isaac Nwaobia.

Otti congratulated the couple and prayed for God’s blessings and strength to sustain their marriage.

He noted that no marriage is perfect and urged couples to resolve disagreements with understanding and commitment.

Speaking on governance, Governor Otti said the visible developments across the state in the last three years and a few months were only the beginning.

“This is just the beginning. This place has to be a different place, and the dignity of our people will be restored.

“We are in the process. We are not there yet. But we have just done three years and a few months.

By the time we do eight years and then bring someone who is better than us, because anybody succeeding me must be better.
“So, you can imagine what Abia will look like, and it is possible. So, let us not lose hope. We have not touched everywhere, but we are in the process; we will get to everywhere,” the Governor re assured.

He thanked Archbishop Nwaobia for his consistent support throughout his political journey, describing him as a man of conviction who stood by him even when it was not convenient.

“We could have struggled without success, but because there were men and women of God like Archbishop Nwaobia who prayed consistently, the struggle succeeded and the state is getting better,” Otti said.

In his remarks, Archbishop Nwaobia thanked the Governor for honouring the invitation.

He recalled meeting Dr Otti in 2012 at the opening of the Owerrinta branch of Diamond Bank and again during a presentation on how to reposition Abia State.

The Archbishop said he was inspired by the Governor’s vision and committed to supporting it, adding that he was grateful to God that Governor Otti was now implementing policies that were making the state better.

He prayed for God’s guidance, good health and grace for the Governor to accomplish his mandate.

Dignitaries at the event included the Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe; the Member representing Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe; the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ihuoma Emeruwa; the Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Abia Central, Senator Darlington Nwokocha; the Member representing Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency, Hon.
