Anambra CP Directs DPOs to Sustain Heightened Alertness, Improve Police Facilities
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, has directed all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to sustain heightened vigilance and ensure that personnel remain proactive, responsive and strategically positioned to promptly identify and neutralise emerging security threats within their respective Areas of Responsibility (AORs).
The Commissioner also charged DPOs to prioritise the proper maintenance, cleanliness and facelift of their police stations, stressing that police facilities must remain functional, orderly and conducive to effective service delivery.
According to him, the physical condition of a police station has a direct bearing on public confidence and the quality of interaction between the Police and the communities they serve.
CP Nnanna further tasked officers and men of the Command to uphold the highest standards of discipline, professionalism, courtesy and respect for the fundamental rights of citizens, while remaining firm, decisive and lawful in the discharge of their duties.
The Commissioner gave the directives during unscheduled visits to police divisions and formations across the State as part of efforts to strengthen operational readiness, assess personnel preparedness and enhance effective policing at the grassroots.
During the visits, CP Nnanna inspected the general condition of the facilities, arms and operational equipment, as well as the readiness of personnel. He also assessed the security preparedness and response capacity of officers and men in the various divisions.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to proactive, intelligence-led and community-oriented policing.
He assured Ndi Anambra that the Command would continue to strengthen its operational strategies, enhance police visibility and sustain robust measures to prevent crime and protect lives and property across the State.
The formations visited included the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu; Dunukofia Police Station; Oyi Police Station; and the newly constructed Ogbunike Police Station.
