NLC 2026: Nonye Soludo Bags National Award for Social Impact Leadership

The First Lady of Anambra State, Dr.Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has been selected as a recipient of the National Leadership Conference (NLC) 2026 Award in recognition of her contributions to social impact, public wellbeing and community development.
The award, under the category of Excellence in Social Impact Leadership, recognises individuals whose leadership, advocacy and community-focused initiatives have made significant contributions to improving the lives of individuals and communities.
In an official letter notifying Dr. Soludo of her selection, the organisers expressed their delight in informing her of the honour and confirmed her as a recipient of the NLC 2026 Award.
Mrs. Soludo’s recognition comes against the backdrop of her sustained advocacy and interventions in the areas of preventive healthcare, nutrition, menstrual hygiene, maternal and child wellbeing, environmental sanitation, healthy living and community development across Anambra State.
Through the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, she has championed programmes designed to promote preventive healthcare and healthier lifestyles, while also addressing issues relating to nutrition, menstrual hygiene, maternal and child wellbeing, environmental hygiene and community health.
The initiative has facilitated the distribution of menstrual hygiene products to schoolgirls, nutrition interventions for children, health screenings and awareness campaigns, as well as community-based healthy living activities across the state’s 21 local government areas.
Beyond individual interventions, the initiative has focused on promoting preventive health practices and encouraging communities to adopt healthier lifestyles, with particular attention to women, children and school-age girls.
The NLC 2026 Award adds to the recent recognitions associated with Mrs. Soludo’s social impact and public health advocacy.
Only recently, she received the BudgIT Health Activism Award in recognition of her work through the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, particularly in the areas of preventive healthcare and community wellness.
The latest honour further places her health and social-impact advocacy in the spotlight, particularly her efforts to use community-based programmes to promote healthier living and improve public awareness of preventive healthcare.
The NLC 2026 Award is expected to be formally presented at the National Leadership Conference 2026, where recipients will be recognised for their contributions to leadership and societal development.
