ANAMBRA POLICE SEEK PUBLIC SUPPORT TO REUNITE FOUR-YEAR-OLD BOY WITH FAMILY

The Anambra State Police Command has launched an appeal to members of the public to assist in identifying and reuniting a four-year-old boy, who gave his name as Ifedimma Emmanuel, with his family.
The child was safely found wandering along Anatanaba Road, Okpoko, on the evening of September 18, 2026, by a joint security patrol comprising police operatives attached to the Okpoko Police Division and members of the Okpoko Vigilante Group.
Following his discovery, the young boy was immediately taken into the safe custody of the Police, where he is being well cared for and his welfare and safety are being given priority.
The child, who identified himself as Ifedimma Emmanuel, has, however, been unable to provide sufficient information about his parents, guardians, home address or other details that could help the authorities trace his family.
The Police Command is therefore calling on parents, guardians, relatives, community leaders and members of the public who may recognise the child or have useful information about his family to promptly contact the Okpoko Police Division or the Anambra State Police Command, Awka.
Any information provided will assist the Police in verifying the child’s identity and ensuring that he is safely and promptly reunited with his loved ones.
The Command reassures the public that the child remains safe and that every necessary measure is being taken to protect his welfare while efforts continue to locate his family.
The Anambra State Police Command appreciates the cooperation of members of the public and encourages anyone with relevant information to come forward. Together, the community can help bring this young child safely back into the arms of his family.
