Anambra First Lady Celebrates Miss Onyinyechi Basil’s Victory as Miss Universe Nigeria 2025

The wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Dr. (Mrs.) Nonye Soludo, has congratulated Miss Onyinyechi Basil on her emergence as Miss Universe Nigeria 2025.

Basil, who represented Anambra State in the competition, was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria and is set to compete against beauty queens from around the world for the Miss Universe crown later this year. She will represent Nigeria on the global stage.

Dr. Soludo, who is the founder of the Nonye Soludo Healthy Living Initiative, celebrated Miss Basil in a social media post, describing her victory as “another crown for Anambra.”

She said:
Our own Onyinyechi Basil has just been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025!

The Anambra-born beauty queen, who was among the 22 finalists revealed for the competition in August, made it all the way to the final five, edging out other strong contestants to take the revered crown.

For winning the contest, Onyinyechi will — among other great rewards — represent Nigeria at 74th Miss Universe pageant taking place in Bangkok, Thailand in November.
