Obiano aide Debunks Death Rumour, Says He’s Alive, hale and hearty

Willie Obiano

The former Commissioner for Information in Anambra State under former Governor Willie Obiano, Mr. C-Don Adinuba, has dismissed as false the social-media reports alleging that the former governor is dead.

In a statement posted on his WhatsApp page, Adinuba described the viral social media claims as “provocative” and “unfounded,” stressing that Obiano is alive, hale, and hearty in Houston, Texas, United States, where he currently resides.

According to him, the former governor has never lived in London and has not been hospitalised, contrary to the stories circulating online.

Adinuba said the misleading reports claimed that Obiano—who served as governor of Anambra State from 2014 to 2022—had died in London, an assertion he insisted was entirely false.

He wrote:“I have been asked some probing questions by journalists and have heard a provocative rumour about the death of former Governor Willie Obiano. The rumour is not true. I just spoke with the former governor and members of his family a few minutes ago. He is hale and hearty in Houston, United States, where he resides.

Contrary to the reports, Obiano is not in London and has not been hospitalised. He is strong, hale, and hearty, and bouncing in the US. Ignore the rumour,it is not from a credible source. Please, the report is fake; Obiano is still alive.”

Adinuba urged the public to disregard the claim entirely, describing it as the handiwork of mischief-makers.

Adinuba who also spoke with our correspondent said that the former governor well, alive and healthy in USA.

He added that, like the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, who was repeatedly subjected to similar false death rumours during his lifetime, the 70-year-old Obiano has now become a target of baseless social-media speculations.
