Obigwe Applauds Soludo’s intervention In Awka Igweship Crisis
A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe, has praised the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, for intervening to save Awka Kingdom from an Igweship tussle.
Obigwe, who is the National Coordinator of the APGA Media Warriors Forum, said in a statement on Saturday that Governor Soludo’s intervention would save the capital city from untold crises.
Obigwe made this known while reacting to a press release entitled “Awka Council of Kingmakers Rejects Panel of Inquiry Report on Awka Traditional Kingship (Eze Uzu).”
The group had claimed that Austin Ndigwe remains the monarch of Awka, as against Obi Gibson Nwosu.
The National Coordinator averred that the report “emanated from the camp of cowards supporting the desecration of the Awka traditional stool,” and wondered why they issued the press release as “an amorphous group,” alleging that “as cowards, they are afraid of the unknown.”
According to him, “Governor Soludo did marvellously well by taking the bull by the horns to put an end to the shameful desecration of the Awka traditional stool.”
He added that Anambra is in safe hands and that the people of the state will continue to give Governor Soludo the needed support to sustain his administration’s good work.
“In all, every proactive demonstration of competence by an authority or administration that does not allow matters to be blown out of proportion requires commendation, not condemnation,” he said.
Obigwe further faulted the statement, adding: “Where one has submitted to arbitration, one cannot legally complain about the report of the panel simply because it is unfavourable, especially when one did not withdraw from participation and deliberations during the process.”
According to him, “Governor Soludo is a serious-minded leader, and when it comes to the maintenance of the rule of law, one can only take that lightly at one’s own peril. He has a duty to maintain law and order in Anambra State, and he is ready to go to any length to actualise that for the people of Anambra.”
