Reignite the Spirit of Easter, Soludo Tells Christians

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Soludo, has called on Christians to reflect deeply and recommit themselves to the virtues that Easter embodies.

According to the governor, Easter is a time for selfless love, sacrifice, forgiveness, and reconciliation, values that remain central to the Christian faith and essential for societal harmony.

In a statement issued by Mr. Christian Aburime, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Soludo, in his Easter message to Christian faithful, urged them to demonstrate genuine love and renew their commitment to the virtues exemplified by Jesus Christ.

Easter marks the conclusion of the Lenten season, a period dedicated to fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection.

Governor Soludo emphasized that the occasion stands as the cornerstone of the Christian faith and serves as profound evidence of the triumph of light over darkness, hope over despair, and life over death.

“The resurrection of Jesus Christ is not just a historical event; it is a timeless symbol of redemption, renewal, and the boundless possibilities that emerge when faith remains steadfast and unwavering.

“This season calls on all Christians to reflect deeply and recommit to the virtues that Easter represents: selfless love, sacrifice, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Christ’s journey to the cross and His glorious resurrection remind us that true leadership and responsible citizenship demand putting others before ourselves, bearing one another’s burdens, and choosing the path of peace even in the face of adversity,” he said.

Soludo also extended warm Easter greetings to the entire Christian community in Nigeria, particularly the people of Anambra State.

He prayed that as families and friends gather to celebrate the risen Christ, their hearts would be filled with renewed hope, their homes enriched with peace, and that the light of the resurrection would illuminate the path toward a more just, united, and harmonious society.
