Milestone at 55: ABSU Akwa Ibom Alumni Salutes Senate President’s Wife

As Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, wife of the President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, marks her 55th birthday on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the Abia State University Uturu (ABSU)Alumni Association, Akwa Ibom State Branch, has extended warm felicitations to her, describing her as an epitome of motherhood, unity, and peace in Nigeria.
In a goodwill message jointly signed by the Branch Chairman, Elder Effiong Etukudoh, and the Secretary, Mr. Chris Umosen, the association expressed admiration for her remarkable contributions to the development and empowerment of women, as well as her sustained support for the less privileged through various empowerment initiatives and scholarship programmes.
The association further commended her for bringing pride and honour to Abia State University Uturu through her outstanding achievements, not only as a distinguished alumna of the institution but also as a beacon of hope and a pillar of support to the nation in her role as the wife of the President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON.
Speaking on behalf of the association, Elder Etukudoh noted that, as a prominent and dependable member of the alumni community and a worthy ambassador of Abia State University Uturu, Dr. Mrs. Akpabio has consistently exemplified excellence, grace, humility, and selfless service to humanity.
“The alumni association appreciates Her Excellency for remaining connected to her roots despite the lofty heights she has attained and the immense honour and dignity associated with her position as the wife of the President of the Senate,” the statement noted.
The association further acknowledged her unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, family values, and national development, describing her life and accomplishments as a source of inspiration to women, young people, and members of the alumni community across the country.
Elder Etukudoh therefore used the occasion to pray that Almighty God will continue to strengthen, protect, and bless her with many more fruitful years in good health, happiness, and fulfilment. He also prayed that her life would continue to be filled with the peace, joy, and compassion she so generously shares with others.
